‘Calpurnia Tate’ returns tonight at BookPeople

Author Jacqueline Kelly returns to BookPeople tonight at 7 with her latest. Here’s what our children’s book writer, Sharyn Vane, had to say earlier this month:

“Legions of readers evolved along with Calpurnia Tate in Jacqueline Kelly’s 2010 Newbery Honor-winning historical novel. Now Callie — along with Travis, Granddaddy and the rest of the residents of Fentress, Texas — returns in “The Curious World of Calpurnia Tate” (Henry Holt, $16.99). Kelly excels at taking readers into Callie’s world, full of the wonders of nature and animals. Historical events such as the 1900 Galveston hurricane also play a role. Already garnering pre-publication raves, Austinite Kelly unveils “Curious” at BookPeople at 7 p.m. July 7. Go to http://www.bookpeople.com for more details. (Ages 10-14)”
